Pecha Kucha is a nonprofit monthly community event based in in Providence, RI. Each month a new theme calls for members of the community to come out and speak on a topic of their choice. I have volunteered making the digital art/ social posts for Providence's Pecha Kucha events for two years now. When interpreting each months theme I am given nearly full creative liberty. I try to make sure the art is tied visually to the theme but also not overly literal or predictable.
Speaking at the "Sweet & Sour" event last September was a scary but deeply rewarding experience for me. It helped me to face a fear of public speaking, and to open up about
my experience being a working artist. I'm very grateful to have had that experience and felt
the love of the community.  To top it all off making the artwork for the event it was the
cherry on top of it all! Interested at all? Consider attending as each event falls on the last Wednesday of the month.
